Thrilled to win four awards at the Business Travel People Awards 2024 – our best result ever!
Alongside our customer, we were shortlisted for a whopping 13 different categories for what the organisers said were the highest number of entries ever received. Our finalists beat off tough competition from some of the industry’s most talented professionals to take home the coveted cork trophies.
Following an entry process involving a written submission, as well as an interview in some categories, the entries were assessed by an independent panel of expert judges and announced at the lavish ceremony on 17 September at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
The judges recognised the hard work of our people. Commenting on Jake Lawley’s win in the most hotly contested ‘Rising Star’ category, they said: “Jake pushes the boundaries, always looking to take things to the next level. A ‘ideas man’, he contributes to different workstreams and is always the first to put his hand up and share innovative suggestions. Having progressed quickly at Clarity, he is now mentoring new account execs. He consistently receives ‘excellent/good’ ratings from customers too.”
Judges described Donna Fitzgerald as “a true industry professional who went way above and beyond to stabilise the business through an uncertain period. She brought real and positive change to the organisation, ensuring the ship was steady and that her people felt heard. The legacy of what she achieved will have a significant impact on the business travel industry for years to come.”
Recognising a bright future for our events team, Brighter, the judges: “This newly-merged Clarity and Agiito meetings and events team is already making its mark, helped by the new MeetingsPro solution.”
Our customer, Sarah-Jayne Holley from John Lewis Partnerships, also won Travel Buyer of the Year for the second time this year, demonstrating the strength of our supplier relationship as John Lewis Partnerships’ TMC. Judges praised Sarah-Jayne for her “enthusiastic, can-do approach to deliver significant positive impact within her organisation, fully embracing all of the support, relationships and mentorship around her and, crucially, listening and continually learning.”
“These awards are highly significant in the industry calendar as it gives us the opportunity to celebrate the people who keep our industry moving, which is at the heart of successful business travel. To be a finalist in almost every category, and then to take home a quarter of these, is a huge achievement and notably more than any other TMC involved. The night’s success really demonstrates the value and synergies of the teams coming together, and what can be achieved as one,” said Pat McDonagh, CEO of Clarity.
We also sponsored the Consultant of the Year category, a new category for the 2024 awards, which Pat believes “alongside great technology, these are the people who power our industry and provide the support when it’s needed the most.”
